BaraGamer: Mattokenzi
Brand spankin new interview, with a twist!
A brief description of yourself: Hi my name is Matthew (but I prefer to be called Matt) I’m a 25 year old Heterosexual Bear (Str8) I live in Surrey, England. I’m a very animated guy (with a dry scene of humour).
I’m in between 2 jobs, I work part-time in an Adult Learning Centre cafe and Customer Relations in the Games Workshop. I mostly teach customers how to assemble ‘n’ paint their models and how to play table top games like:
- Warhammer Fantasy Battles. (I play as the Dwarfs).
- Warhammer 40,000 (I play as the Grey Knights).
- The Lord of the Rings (I play as The Fellowship).
Gaming Life: I love playing video games and I’m a pretty fast learner so I can quickly adapt easily to games that I’m not used to.
Wii: I mostly like to play Legend of Zelda (Downloaded Ocarina of Time & Majora’s Mask from the Virtual Console) I have my niece come round every month so we play Mario Kart Wii.
Nintendo DS: The World Ends With You, but Pokemon is my guilty pleasure.
XBox 360: Brink, it’s my first shoot ’em up that I bought. Actually, I play on my sister’s Xbox. I casually play some of her games like Super Street Fighter 4, Dragon Age 2 and Fable III. I missed out on a few of her games like Assassins Creed 2… She is eagerly waiting for The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim, SSX (Mac) and Soulcalibur 5 (Mitsurugi). But as for me, I’d like to try out Gears of War 3.
Playstation Portable: Well I guess I play alot of games from Square Enix like the Final Fantasy Series. I downloaded most of them. But, I am waiting for Final Fantasy Type-0.
Online Gaming: Well I’ve retired from World of Warcraft about 2 years now. I loved playing as the Dreanei (those big blue guys). In the future I think I’ll take a shot at Xbox Live.
Favorite Bara Artists: First of all, I am answering this question because I like Bara for the art… NOT for the sex. I know well-known artists like Takeshi Matsu and Jiraiya but I’m not too keen on Tom of Finland.
When I’m not playing video games, drawing is my other favourite hobby I like to do. I am a self-taught traditional artist you see, but I don’t have an art tablet. But I love to learn from other artists like Mauleo’s Hercules (Y-Gallery). Crimsonblood’s Shin (Zhu1609 in deviantArt) is the guy who helped me improve with the basics of proportion and anatomy, I’m currently learning under Leomon32 (deviantArt).
Of course I’ve got to love myself as an artist too (Mattokenzi on deviantArt), I know that might sound narcissistic, but to be a good artist you need to learn to love your own artistic style and learn from others as well as your mistakes. Because, lets face it, everyones style is unique and that’s what art is all about. I have a few people saying “I love your drawings” but I always give them a modest reply. “Thank you, I love to draw but I have a lot to learn.”
I am currently looking for an artist who can teach me how to draw fat/chubby style and girls.
Favorite Bara Characters: Well I like Yuna from Final Fantasy X (but she is a girl so she won’t count) but since you asked me to talk about my favourite Bara boys…
Video Games: Beast Tamer from Tactics Ogre (Let Us Cling Together) OK, he is a class not a character. I like Priest from Dungeon Fighter Online (But I call him Jeda because of Slap-up Party) It makes a change to see a male healer, I never played this game but I like the look of Marcus (Gears of War Trilogy).
Anime and Manga: I know people will say there favourite bara in manga and anime is “Asuma” (from Naruto) that would be a common answer so I am going to think out of the box, he isn’t classed as Bara but I like “Kyouroku Shunsei” (from Bleach).
I don’t have a favourite anime/manga girl though *sigh* I guess I’ll have to stick with my heroine, Evie Valentine (she is my OC for my dojinshi Paladin of Eros)
Favorite Bears/Bara in Media: Robin Windsor (BBC1: Strictly Come Dancing) I will admit… I like to have a chest like that; another bear I like (OK he is a bear icon) I’m not much of a Sci-Fi person but it has to be Capt. William Riker (Star Trek: The Next Generation)
